File dikunci read-only (berbeda OS) - Oprekan Nikko

Kemarin sempat restore file dari Client Linux ke Client Windows menggunakan Symantec Backup Exec, entah kenapa filenya dikunci semua read-only. Setelah berguru dengan Mbah GOOGLE akhirnya ketemu solusinya.

Open "computer"

Right Click on the drive you want to change permissions on, and click properties.

Go to the security tab, and click the advanced button there.

Go to the Owner tab, and click the Edit button

Click "other users or groups"

In the box that pops up, type "administrators" (minus the quotes), and click ok

Now back in the owner tab area, make sure you put a checkmark in the box that says "replace owner on subcontainers and objects"

After doing that, click apply... This process may take quite a few minutes, especially if you have a lot of files on the drive.

After that process is complete, we now need to click ok, and then get over to the permissions tab, and click "change permissions".

Click the remove button for all of the entries that are there, so you should end up with a blank box that says "No groups or users have permission to access this object. However, the owner of this object can assign permissions.".

Now click add.

Type "everyone" in the box that comes up (again without the quotes) and click on. Now in the box that pops up, put a checkmark in the allow column for full access. This should cause everything in the allow column to get checked.

Click ok.

Now before you continue, be sure to put a checkmark by the "replace all child object permissions..." thing.

Click ok, and let windows do its thing.

Once you have done all of this, you should have a drive that will never ask permission for anything.
